Alongside the FortiOS 8.0 announcement at Accelerate 2026 in Las Vegas on March 10, Fortinet introduced FortiSOC, a dedicated security operations center platform designed to consolidate detection, investigation, and response workflows within the broader Security Fabric ecosystem.
FortiSOC integrates natively with FortiOS 8.0’s expanded telemetry sources, including the new AI engine outputs and Model Context Protocol visibility. The platform is positioned as Fortinet’s answer to the standalone SIEM and SOAR market, bringing security operations management under the same architectural umbrella as network security, endpoint protection, and cloud security.
The launch reflects a broader industry pattern where platform vendors are absorbing security operations tooling that previously required separate procurement and integration. For organizations already committed to the Fortinet Security Fabric, FortiSOC offers a path to reduce tool sprawl without sacrificing operational capability. The combination of FortiOS 8.0’s inline AI engines and FortiSOC’s investigation workflows creates a feedback loop where detection insights flow directly into response playbooks without crossing vendor boundaries.
Fortinet has not yet disclosed standalone pricing for FortiSOC, suggesting it may ship as a platform entitlement for customers at certain Security Fabric licensing tiers rather than as an independently purchased product.
