The U.S. Department of Justice cleared Google’s $32 billion all-cash acquisition of Wiz in October 2025, issuing early termination of its antitrust investigation. The decision removes the largest regulatory hurdle for what will become the biggest cybersecurity transaction in history.
Google announced the agreement to acquire Wiz in March 2025 after an initial $23 billion offer was declined in 2024. Wiz crossed $1 billion in annual recurring revenue during 2025, providing cloud security posture management and workload protection across AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and other environments through an agentless scanning architecture.
The deal still requires regulatory clearance from the European Union and other jurisdictions before closing, which is expected in Q1 2026. Wiz will join Google Cloud while retaining its brand and multi-cloud support, a commitment that matters to enterprises running zero trust architectures across multiple providers.
